We provide specialist assessment to look at your child’s upper limb use to determine the best intervention required for their development. Depending on assessment results we can provide the following interventions:
Modified Constraint Induced Movement Therapy (mCIMT):
This is an intensive specialised therapy, targeting the use of your child’s weaker arm/hand. Your child will wear a soft mit over their stronger hand to encourage use of the weaker arm. Specific target areas will be given each week.
Bimanual Therapy:
This is a rehabilitation approach to improve the co-ordination and use of both hands together.
Task Orientated Therapy:
This approach will focus on goal specific tasks and how we can use and adapt the task to work with our hand/arm function.
Please note mCIMT or Bimanual therapy is a minimum 12 block intervention (Package 3).
